hi friends! for those who weren't able to get a copy of the review problems for physics, here they are. good luck, dear stars! we can do this! ~mia

1. a mass of 2.5 kg was dropped from a window. When it hits the ground, the mass gained a kinetic energy of 10.0 joules. Compute for: (a) the velocity upon hitting the ground;
(b) the potential energy at its reference point

2. a loaded cart weighing 500 newtons is pulled over a level road a distance of 0.500 km by a force of 125 newtons. (a) how much work was done? (b)how much work is done if the force acts at an angle of 25 degrees with the road?

3. a crate weighing 300 newtons is moved across a horizontal floor by dragging it with a rope attached to the front end. If the rope makes an angle of 30 degrees with the horizontal, and if the coefficient of friction is 0.300, find the (a) force exerted by the man on the rope; (b) work done in dragging the crate over a distance of 15 meters.

4. resistances of 5 and 10 ohms are connected in parallel. This combination is connected in series with a 15 ohm resistor. If the entire circuit is connected across a 220 volt line, what is (a) the total resistance of the circuit? (b) the total current in the circuit? (c) the voltage across the 15 ohm resistor? (d) the current in the 5 ohm resistor?

5. a toaster and a water heater connected in parallel are connected to a 220 volt line. The current in the toaster is 8 amperes, and that in the heater is 10 amperes. (a) find the resistance of each device. (b) what is the current flowing in the line?

This is my good-bye to the stars. This may very well be the last time that I talk in front of you all. This will be the last time I’ll be able to say, “4-1 rocks my socks!” This is my last chance to tell you all how much I’ve appreciated all the love, support and trust that you have given me. This is my last chance to tell you all how much I love you and how much I will miss you.

In how many months, we’ll all be separated. We’ll be in different colleges and different course. Sana naman may mag-uste sa inyo.

My everyday won’t be complete without the lunch time discos/Backstreet Boys & ‘NSync karaoke sessions, the morning talks that jumpstart my day, the “Today is March blah blah blah and everyone is present..”. There will be no more teachers to hug or go gaga over every time they pass by outside the classroom, no more of Mom E’s pagpupunyagi or Mama B’s Jurassic babies, no more “3-1 who’s your world?”, no more going to the coords’ at 12:45, no more double period English to look forward to and passports to write, no more banging sound on the chalkboard or foot stomping on the platform, no more “the raven is a hoarse”, no more of making Jiza hush every time she opens her mouth to sing “so don’t treat me like a puppy on a string..”, no more annoying sound every time the door closes, no more of Vea running to the comfort room to pee, no more of turning to Polly and borrowing her “globe” or turning around during math to borrow one of Anne’s things, no more turning to Hyra to borrow her lip balm or Vivi forever borrowing my pencil or eraser, no more people going “yuck..” or “ayy”.. There will be no more of the boys.

We’ve sure gone through oh so much together. There are so many memories to be forever cherished. From the first time Belle introduced us to “chch-ahah”, to our first hike in Baguio with Fr. Edwin, to making stargate OUR gate, to being so inspired by our Marillac and Tahanan buddies to do a job well-done in our Pintasayawit, to “love love love, tayo’y magmahalan..”, we all walked in the spirit.

From our yezzuh action, to the “beef fingers”, to meeting Mayuko and the rest of our Japanese friends, to praying and missing Raule during second term, to laughing every after realizing that no one was laughing at Sir Benjie’s jokes, to seeing my address on the 3rd year bulletin board everyday, to our every day graded recitations in history, to from being scribes to stenographers, to the scroise-o-meter, to the sudden silences we were one class.

From fighting over who’s hotter, Mischa Barton or Amanda Griffin? To Anne’s “pagtumpaktumpak”, to when we said good-bye to Sir Eric and Sir Kiko, to the first time we stepped the 4-1 classroom with one less star and left room 306, to all the kabaduyans we went through talking about Starstruck or Lovers in Paris, to the English oral defense, to reaching our Ithaca and surviving the Mt. Banahaw hike as “boys” with Kuya Dan and “the men”, to Bear’s “Sir, feeling mo lang.”, to our infamous judgment day, to the never ending “boys, boys, boys we don’t need a soiree..”, to teaching the Don Bosco Pugad boys, to our C4 ladies, to our AMOS night and to our getting a 20 for the choral recitation, we “won together, lost together. Played together and stayed together.”

You all were the stars that lighted my way through my last two years of high school and I am grateful for that.

We’re going out to the real world. Show the world some LUV 4-1. No one knows what’s going to happen. But be assured that when you feel like you’re alone, you’ve got a friend in me. You all know where I live anyway. You’ve all been there.

So this is it. This is my good-bye to the stars. Thank you for two great years shared with laughter, sweat and tears. Each and every one of you helped me grow into a better person and for that again, I say, thank you.
